Community Involvement

SalDan Developments Ltd. is an active member of our community supporting many local groups and associations.

Sam’s involvement with volunteer work gave him the opportunity to serve in the capacity of President on many associations, and bus driver on others. SalDan supports and sponsors youth and adult oriented sports ranging from amateur to competitive, as well as actively taking part in endless fund raising activities.

Our involvement with Habitat For Humanity

Being an active sponsor of Habitat for Humanity for the past few years has been one of the most rewarding experiences. In 2020, we built a 3 bedroom, 1,290 sq. ft. custom bungalow that is the first fully accessible habitat home, featuring barrier-free entrances, wider doorways and a stand-up shower. Helping people achieve home ownership and independence is a very worthy undertaking and especially in this case as this home is made specifically to fit the needs of a very deserving mother, daughter, and grandmother!

What the Saldan + Holmes Approved Homes Partnership provides

Our involvement with the Holmes’ group is something we are very proud of, it compliments our 40 years of building quality, adding an additional layer of accountability to our product, and giving the clients another reason to choose a SalDan home. The Holmes Approved Program essentially provides the client with peace of mind by performing multiple third party inspections done on every project – with this partnership the clients can be even more confident that they are receiving a home that’s done above today’s standards, and it’s made right!

The latest involvement in youth sports culminated with the return of Junior “A” hockey to Sault Ste. Marie. The Soo Thunderbirds Junior “A” hockey club flies high again after more than 25 years of absence. This club provides local athletes with the opportunity to combine education with hockey at a higher level while being able to live at home. As president of this club, Sam was able to bring together a large number of Sault area sponsors as well as convince many talented volunteers to give their time for the betterment of local youth.

Giving Back to The Precious Blood Cathedral

SalDan takes care of the Precious Blood Cathedral to keep the integrity of the building in tact. See here us replacing the cross at the very top on the church’s tower.
